TOLEDO
Spain´s first capital city,
known as The Imperial City, is located in a hilltop overlooking the Tagus River
near to Madrid. In 1987 this fortified city was declared World Heritage Site by
the UNESCO due to its historical importance, an outstanding example of peaceful
co-existence of three cultures (Jewish, Christian and Muslim).

The top attractions in Toledo
are the city´s magnifient Cathedral, the Synagogue of "El Tránsito",
the San Servando Castle and the "Alcázar", a fort that was founded
almost 1000 years ago. While for Spanish art, the Holy Cross Museum boast an
extensive collection where Goya, Velázquez and overall by the famous
Renaissance artist, "El Greco" are represented.
It is a real pleasure to walk
through its charming narrow streets which are almost like a labyrinth and taste
their delicious dishes based on stews, game meats and the popular
"migas".
